Job Description
The Equipment Set-Up Attendant is responsible for preparing, organizing, and setting up airline-specific service equipment (such as trollies, carriers, and galley inserts) in accordance with airline specifications and sanitation standards. This role plays a key role in ensuring that all in-flight service equipment is properly configured, clean, and ready for food assembly and on-time delivery to airline clients.
Essential Functions * Assemble and stage airline service equipment, including trolleys, meal carts, oven racks, beverage containers, drawers, trays, and utensils as per airline specifications.
* Inspect equipment for cleanliness, proper function, and damage before use.
* Follow standard setup layouts and airline-specific diagrams to ensure accuracy in equipment configuration.
* Clean and sanitize all reusable items and surfaces per HACCP and company sanitation guidelines.
* Work collaboratively with Tray Assembly, Cutlery, and Food Production teams to ensure coordinated readiness of all components.
* Track and record quantities of items prepared or returned, reporting shortages or damage.
* Maintain an organized workstation and ensure that set-up areas are clean and safe.
* Operate dishwashing or sanitizing machinery to clean reusable equipment when required.
* Follow all safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and PPE usage.
* Assist in loading or transferring equipment to staging or transport areas as directed.
* Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs. Skills and Qualifications
* Must be at least 18 years of age.
* High School Diploma or GED preferred.
* Previous experience in food packaging, manufacturing, or production is preferred but not required.
* Familiarity with food safety regulations and packaging standards is a plus.
* Ability to ensure the correct packaging of food items while maintaining high-quality standards.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
* Efficiently handle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
* Ability to communicate with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
* Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language with proficiency.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This position is located in a food manufacturing facility and involves working in areas that may be cold, hot, humid, or noisy. The environment includes exposure to strong food odors, allergens, and moving equipment. Employees must follow strict sanitation and safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Work may take place on wet or slippery surfaces. Schedules may include overtime, weekends, or holidays based on operational needs.
Physical Demands * Standing/Walking: Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods, often on concrete or other hard surfaces.
* Lifting/Carrying: Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 25 lbs. (occasionally more with assistance or equipment).
