SITE SUPERVISOR
SUMMARY: The Leaguers, Incorporated is seeking Site Supervisors for its Head Start Program.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Responsible for overseeing the daily center operations, supervises center staff, ensures compliance with Head Start standards, and maintains a safe, developmentally appropriate learning environment for children. As the
Site leader, the supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the Leaguers' Mission and Vision are enacted daily; and the center delivers high-quality early childhood services aligned with federal Head Start and State standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
SUPERVISION
  • Responsible for the daily operations of the Head Start/ Early Head Start center.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and healthy environment for children and staff via monitoring of indoor and outdoor spaces.
  • Provide site orientation to new and transferred staff and maintain current CHRI and CARI on file.
  • Monitor employees' work schedules and request substitutes as needed.
  • Coordinate with other middle management staff to provide supervision, guidance and support to Center staff.
  • Ensure parents enter attendance daily on the kiosk and information is checked and verified in Child Plus System.
  • Maintain 85% attendance for children and ensure family advocates complete absentee reports daily.
  • Ensure center staff receive important communication in a timely manner; and report site and staff issues in a timely manner to ensure prompt response.

FACILITIES
  • Ensure that all center licensing information is current and posted.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the center and report on any issues needing immediate attention.
  • Ensure regular communication with parents is maintained through monthly calendars, and notices. Ensure bulletin boards are neat and postings are current.
  • Utilize classroom checklist, Custodian checklist, and other monitoring tools to ensure that needed maintenance and repairs are made in accordance with agency policy.
  • Conduct one Fire Drill and one Emergency drill monthly.
  • Ensure the Custodian Daily checklist is completed; and the Custodian Performance and Quality Review is completed weekly.
  • Ensure Maintenance prepares and submits a requisition for supplies by the third Monday of each month.

PARENT INVOLVEMENT
  • In collaboration with PFCE, ensure the composition of the center parent committee annually and the Policy Council representative participates in monthly meetings.
  • Participates with PFCE staff in the Selection and enrollment of children at the center.
  • Work consistently with PFCE to be at full enrollment and to maintain 85% attendance rate.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY
  • Ensure teaching staff enter meal count for Breakfast, Lunch and Snack for children daily.
  • Ensure ADP timecards are completed for each staff and Time Off requests are approved in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records for Licensing review such as Site Staff Information, Facilities, Pest Control, Fire Drill log, Child Accident and maintain in binders at the site for review.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Communicate effectively with staff, families, children and the public.
  • General knowledge of Personnel policies and procedures, licensing information in the state of New Jersey, New Jersey Standards for Preschool Education, Head Start Performance Standards.
  • Be flexible in work duties and be responsible as part of the site team to carry out all other non-assigned duties effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must hold a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field w/ a minimum of 15 college credits in Early Childhood Education.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Leadership/ Supervisor experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a school setting, preferred.
