Job description

St. John Paul II Academy in Olathe, Kansas - currently in its inaugural year as a Catholic Liberal Arts school in the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas - is seeking a faith-filled kindergarten assistant for the 2026-2027 school year who aspires to the noble task of helping young children grow in wisdom and virtue. This is a part-time position, less than 30 hours weekly.
The ideal candidate has previous experience with children and is able to be self-directed and take initiative to complete tasks. Assistant training will be provided by the classroom teacher.
Under the direction of the classroom teacher, the kindergarten assistant's key responsibilities would include:
  • Observing and assisting students during a Montessori work cycle
  • Working with students on math and literacy in individually and in small groups
  • Preparing, organizing, and maintaining a clean, peaceful, and orderly classroom
