PreK & Kindergartenย Kids Clubย Directorย โ€“ย Seasonalย 

Maclay School is currently seeking a responsible, energetic leader with a genuine passion for working with children to apply for theย PreK & Kindergarten Kids Club Directorย position for the upcoming school year.

Purpose:ย The main responsibility of thisย position is toย supportย PreK & Kindergartenย students by fosteringย an enjoyable, safe, and enriching experienceย through simple crafts,ย games,ย and providing direction to allย LevelUpย Enrichmentย programsย and after-school Auxiliary Programs.ย ย 

Responsibilities:ย 

  • Charged with fostering the physical, emotional, and social well-being ofย PreK and Kindergartenย students in theย after-schoolย care programย ย 

  • Prepareย dailyย activitiesย and schedulesย that incorporateย Maclayโ€™s Mission and Visionย into the daily routine.ย 

  • Prepare activities that are developmentallyย appropriate forย the age of the students attending.ย 

  • Maintainย accurateย records of attendanceย for students, enrichments,ย and Kids Club staffย 

  • Effectiveย dailyย communicationย with parents when questions or concerns are presented.ย 

  • Guideย students enrolled inย after-school Auxiliary Programsย to their respective location.ย ย 

  • Report any problems which arise with students, enrichments, or staff to the Director of Auxiliary Programsย in a timely manner.ย ย 

  • Supervise,ย assist, and activelyย participateย in all aspects of theย studentโ€™sย day.ย 

  • Maintain positive relationships withย studentsย by showing sensitivity toย studentโ€™sย emotional needs and problem solving anyย studentย issues effectively.ย 

  • Act as a role model forย studentsย by following all policies andย demonstratingย enthusiasm, sense of humor, and self-control.ย 

  • Implement positive behavior-management techniquesย and communicate with the designated Student Support Teamย when concerns are presented.ย 

  • Helpย maintainย space and supplies.ย 

Qualifications:ย 

  • High School Diploma, preferred degree in early childhood education (or pursing degree)ย 

  • Part-time availability, Monday through Friday from 2:30pm โ€“ 6:00pmย 

  • Demonstrated experience working with childrenย in a group setting.ย ย 

  • Ability to teach, lead,ย andย participateย inย various recreational activities.ย 

  • Excellent character, integrity, and adaptability.ย 

  • Ability to communicate and work with a variety of ages and skill levels.ย 

  • The desire and ability to work in a cooperative,ย collaborativeย atmosphere.ย 

  • Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control.ย

Physical Requirements and ADA Statementย ย 

This role requires regular movement between classrooms and buildings, participation in classroom observations, and navigating indoor and outdoor spaces. The position also requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, communicate clearly,ย operateย standard technology, and occasionallyย lift upย to 20โ€“30 pounds.
