What are the typical responsibilities of a key holder?

Key Holders are entrusted with additional responsibilities beyond standard retail roles, including opening and closing the store, handling cash deposits, and ensuring security protocols are followed. They often supervise shifts, assist with inventory management, and act as a point of contact for escalated customer issues when managers are not present. This position requires strong leadership skills and reliability, as Key Holders are expected to set an example for other team members and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

What is the average pay for a key holder?

The average pay for a Key Holder typically ranges from $12 to $17 per hour in the United States, depending on the company, location, and level of experience. Some employers may also offer additional benefits such as store discounts, bonuses, or paid time off. Key Holders often earn slightly more than entry-level retail associates due to their added responsibilities, such as opening and closing the store and overseeing shifts. Pay rates can vary, so it's a good idea to check with specific employers or job postings in your area for the most accurate information.
