Job description

Job Summary
The position of Utility will be to ensure safe operation of production equipment through preventative maintenance while maintaining maximum production capacity. This position must adhere to all environmental, health & safety policies and procedures, current attendance program and disciplinary action program
Hours:
  • A Crew: Monday-Thursday 5:45am-3:45pm
  • C Crew: Friday/Saturday 5:45am-3:45pm, Sunday/Monday 4:00PM-2:00PM

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for maintaining equipment to maximize production and meet customer requirements.
  • Ensure all preventative maintenance tasks are performed accurately and in a time manner.
  • Provide input on utility position while ensuring accurate builds of robotic spray guns and ensuring proper operation of spray booth equipment.
  • Work with spray booth operators on gun troubleshooting to reduce the amount of unnecessary gun changes in our facilities.
  • Provide input towards cost saving ideas to streamline our processes and reduce down time.
    • Assist our project development team with facility planning and expansions as needed.
    • Assist our Health and Safety team with proper training of and maintenance on all safety elements of equipment and tools used on the job.
  • Assist and or champion other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications
  • Education
    • Minimum Required: Minimum of Grade 12 Education or Equivalent is required.
    • Preferred: Certificate or Degree in relevant field is considered an asset.
  • Experience
    • Minimum Required: Experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
    • Preferred: Experience in Robotics, Automotive Manufacturing Maintenance, Automotive Paint Process, or Building Maintenance is a plus.
  • Knowledge in Preventative Maintenance system is a plus.
  • Operation of Industrial Equipment is preferred.
  • Ensure that the OSHA and internal safe operating principles are in place and adhered to. Comply with provisions of the OSHA Regulations and take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of all employees. Ensure compliance and awareness of the hazards present in the workplace.
  • Adhere to the IATF16949 requirements by assisting with the responsibilities of ensuring that the production equipment is operating efficiently and product availability is sufficient based on current work instructions and procedures to carry out manufacturing activities.
  • Comply with Environmental Programs, including Hazardous Waste and Air Emissions Compliance, as well as the Environmental Management Systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written communication and proven organizational skills.
  • Maintain a valid US Driver's License.

Working Conditions
The following working conditions are present or expected on a daily basis:
  • Manufacturing environment with minimal managerial assignments.
  • Continued exposure to chemicals, robotics, industrial and automotive vehicles, manufacturing equipment, building structures and weather elements.
  • Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs. with limited accommodations and flexible working positions.
  • Must comply with all Company policies, procedures and work instructions.
  • Personal Protective Equipment must be worn at all times while on the production floor.
  • Must be able to pass and maintain an Industrial Equipment license or licenses.
  • Must be able to certify under the OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard.
