Key Account Manager – CPG / Natural Health
Greater Toronto Area | Remote / Work From Home

MacDonald Search Group is partnering with a leading Canadian natural health and consumer products company to recruit a Key Account Manager for its Ontario commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CPG sales professional who enjoys owning major customer relationships, developing account strategy and using data to uncover opportunities for profitable growth.

The position is remote/work from home and can be based anywhere within approximately 90 minutes' drive of Etobicoke. Some customer meetings and business travel will be required.

The Opportunity Reporting into the sales organization, the Key Account Manager will take ownership of assigned national and regional customers across the Food, Drug & Mass (FDM) channels.

A particularly important part of the mandate will be working with Rexall and McKesson retail banners, making previous experience with these customers highly desirable.

You will be responsible for developing account strategies, building relationships with key customer decision-makers and delivering against sales, distribution, market share and profitability objectives.

What You'll Do
  • Develop and execute annual business plans for assigned national and regional retail accounts.
  • Manage and grow relationships with key customer decision-makers.
  • Deliver sales, market share, distribution and profitability targets.
  • Identify new opportunities to expand distribution and accelerate account growth.
  • Lead customer negotiations, proposals and contractual discussions.
  • Develop and execute promotional programs and customer-specific initiatives.
  • Coordinate product launches, planogram changes and assortment initiatives.
  • Partner cross-functionally with internal Sales, Marketing, Category, Supply Chain and Finance teams.
  • Analyze account performance and market data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Use customer, syndicated and internal data to build compelling commercial recommendations and presentations.
What We're Looking For You bring 5+ years of progressive B2B sales experience, ideally within CPG, natural health, food, beverage, personal care or another consumer products environment.

Previous experience managing major Canadian retailers is important, with direct experience calling on Rexall and/or McKesson considered particularly valuable.
You should also bring:
  • Proven Key Account Management experience within a CPG environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen and demonstrated success growing customer accounts.
  • Experience negotiating with sophisticated retail customers.
  • Advanced Excel and analytical capabilities.
  • Experience with Power BI and syndicated data platforms such as Nielsen and Numerator.
  • Strong presentation and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to translate data into customer-specific sales opportunities.
  • A valid driver's licence and passport.
  • Ability to travel for customer meetings and other business requirements.
Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: targeting $90 - $105k base, 20% bonus, RRSP match, strong vacation and personal day program, car allowance.
