The Position: We are seeking a Job Captain or Senior Job Captain to join our growing architecture team supporting K-12 and education-focused projects. This role will play a key part in developing construction documents, coordinating with consultants, and helping lead project delivery from early design through public bidding phases.


The ideal candidate brings recent experience with DSA-regulated projects and thrives in a collaborative environment where technical accuracy, organization, and project coordination are essential to success.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of construction documents for public-sector education projects.
  • Support project teams from schematic design through bidding and construction documentation.
  • Conduct building code and regulatory research, including Division of the State Architect (DSA) requirements.
  • Coordinate drawings and documentation with consultant engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in meetings with clients and project teams to ensure design intent and program needs are incorporated.
  • Assist project managers and architects with documentation quality control and project organization.
  • Interpret and review drawings to ensure consistency, coordination, and technical accuracy.
  • Support project schedules and help maintain project documentation workflows.


What You Need (Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field.
  • 4+ years of architectural experience with a focus on construction document production.
  • Recent or current DSA project experience required, preferably within K-12 or education facilities.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction documentation and building codes.
  • Ability to coordinate with consultants and internal teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • California Architect licensure or active pursuit of licensure is a plus.
