What You Will Do:
Guidehouse is seeking a UI/UX Engineer Specialist to bridge the gap between design thinking and frontend software engineering in our Agile organization. Operating within active development sprints, this role translates user personas, operational workflows, and analytical requirements into responsive, functional interfaces. The UI/UX Engineer contributes to our global design system, implements styles for reusable component libraries, and ensures all customer-facing features are visually polished and fully 508-compliant. They work independently on core feature sets while collaborating cross-functionally with senior engineers and architects on advanced frontend structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to and maintain the global shared component library using Angular and custom UI frameworks.
  • Design and iterate high-fidelity wireframes, interaction models, and screens in Figma.
  • Implement and organize global stylesheets (Sass/SCSS) and navigation framework layouts conforming to defined project standards.
  • Execute 508 accessibility compliance testing and implement remediation (keyboard navigation, focus control, screen reader support, error highlighting).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and senior developers to evaluate frontend feasibility and refine user requirements.
  • Support the analysis and execution of 'Spikes' to evaluate emerging technologies and resolve styling issues (Kendo UI, custom widgets).
  • Work alongside frontend and backend developers to streamline the 'design-to-code' handoff, ensuring high-fidelity implementation.
  • Contribute to component library, UI guides and developer-focused styling documentation.
  • Practice and promote design thinking, technical empathy, and continuous improvement across the engineering team.
UI/UX Design & Prototyping Experience
  • Review and interpret user personas, journey maps, and user research to inform layout and component design.
  • Create low-to-high fidelity wireframes, user flow diagrams, and interactive clickable prototypes in Figma.
  • Incorporate user-centered design principles.
  • Build and validate layouts and typography across multiple devices, form-factors, and resolutions.
Frontend & Design System Engineering Experience
  • Develop and configure reusable, testable UI components in TypeScript and Angular.
  • Implement stylesheet structures (Bootstrap, Sass/SCSS, and preprocessors) to enforce brand standards.
  • Utilization of component frameworks (Kendo UI).
  • Collaborate on Angular workspace consolidation, configuration updates, and dependency management.

    What You Will Need:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, HCI, Graphic Design, or related IT field or FOUR(4) years of equivalent experience in leu of degree.
    • SIX (6) years of professional experience as a UI/UX Engineer, Front-End Developer, or UX Designer.
    • Strong working proficiency in HTML5, CSS3/Sass, TypeScript, and Angular (v14+).
    • Hands-on experience with Figma for asset extraction, spec inspection, and prototyping.
    • Practical experience in 508 / WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility compliance and remediation.
    • Experience working in 2-week Agile sprint structures, including story refinement and active collaboration.
    • Familiarity with Kendo UI, Google Looker, and CSS-in-JS is a plus (Preferred).
    Performance Metrics
    • Accuracy and alignment of coded interfaces with provided Figma designs.
    • On-time delivery of functional component code within active sprint cycles.
    • Consistent adherence to and utilization of global styling components.
    • 508 compliance pass rate on developed front-end interfaces.
    • Constructive collaboration and feedback during sprint reviews and design critique sessions.

    The annual salary range for this position is $98,000.00-$163,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
