Job description

Machinist (2nd shift)
Location: Hastings, NE 68901
Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday / 4 pm to 2:30 am; Overtime available on Fridays.
Pay rate: $21.25/h base rate + 15%-night shift diff. = $24.44/h
Contract: W2 under staffing supplier; with a 3-month duration (possible temp to hire)
 

Role Overview Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools (lathes, mills) to fabricate and repair precision parts using mechanical knowledge, blueprints, and precision gauges.

Key Duties

  • Machining & Maintenance: Operate basic equipment, perform daily operational tasks, and assist with machine maintenance.

  • Technical Skills: Interpret blueprints, geometric tolerances, and precision tools (micrometers, depth gauges, dial indicators).

  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to safety, environmental, and quality compliance guidelines.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2+ years of machining experience (manual/CNC).

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED or higher,

  • Skills: Basic planning, safe-work practices, and clear communication.
