Job Description:
Maintaining records and daily operations for a KDHE licensed group daycare home. The primary role of the Daycare Provider is to provide quality childcare services aligned with our USD 214 Day Care Policies and Parent Handbook. The Daycare Provider will be expected to understand and maintain state licensing requirements, employee records and child enrollment procedures. USD 214 Daycare will operate 12 months a year with a predetermined calendar of closures for holidays. The Daycare Provider will be a full time, hourly position and will qualify for USD 214 employee benefits. The Daycare Provider will also supervise part-time employees and high school students who are part of Ulysses High School Job Shadowing programs. Daycare Provider will help with daily cleaning and sanitizing procedures and help communicate with the agency providing meals for days when 214 is closed. The Daycare Provider will report directly to the Hickok Elementary Principal and Daycare Director. This job description is subject to revisions as needed
Qualifications of the applicant:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with childcare and supervising people is preferred. Advanced multitasking and organizational skills to handle multiple children at a time.
  • Must pass a KDHE background check and become certified in First Aid, Pediatric CPR and Safe Sleep. (Training options will be provided for the position.)
  • Professional Development hours (as prescribed by KDHE) will be required and are the responsibility of the Daycare Teacher.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide loving, safe, routine child care for ages infant-5 years of age
  • Maintain enrollment records, employee files, KDHE licensing requirements and CACFP and DCF records
  • Part time employees and volunteer high school students
  • Help with daily cleaning and sanitizing procedures
