Job description

Job Title: Cytogenetic Technologist

Location: Charlotte, NC

Schedule: Sun - 8:00am - 5:30pm, Mon - Wed 10:30am - 9:00pm, Rotating Holidays

Pay Rate: $33.05-$49.60

Sign-On Bonus: $5k ($2500 at 90 days and $2500 at 1 year)

Relocation Assistance: $4k within 45 days

Job Description:
  • Perform sample set up, harvesting, slide preparation, staining, microscopic analysis, photography, karyotyping, and FISH analysis.
  • Assure specimen integrity throughout processing.
  • Culture blood, bone marrow, and biopsy samples, monitor growth levels, and perform culturing procedures.
  • Prepare slides and utilize various staining techniques.
  • Analyze specimens microscopically and operate automated karyotyping equipment.
  • Conduct FISH processing and analysis.
  • Maintain record-keeping, stock supply levels, and lab procedures.
  • Coordinate with lab personnel, manage quality control, and stay updated on cytogenetics research.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in any Life Science.
  • Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) or Technologist in Cytogenetics (ASCP) required.
  • CG(ASCP) certification required.
  • Previous FISH Analysis, Chromosome Analysis, and Cytogenetics Wet Bench Setup experience preferred.
