Job description

Northwest Permanente (NWP) is the largest multispecialty medical group in Oregon and southwest Washington with 1,500+ physicians and 300+ administrative professionals caring for 615,000+ Kaiser Permanente members. Northwest Permanente is owned and led by physicians who earn competitive salaries, without income based on providing individual services. Our medical group comprises board-certified physicians across 50+ specialties.

We invite applications to join our Pre-Operative Medicine team in Portland, OR as a locum tenens physician. Our ideal candidate will have the ability to provide high-quality, comprehensive care for complex patients with multiple co-morbid conditions. Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills are expected. In this role, you will support a broad scope of patients and may also coordinate/assist with the multi-disciplinary Senior Surgical Care Program. This opportunity is for local physicians in the Portland, OR metro area with flexibility to work at both pre-operative medicine clinics at the Kaiser Sunnyside and Westside Medical Centers. We ideally would like full-time support (4-day work week), but have flexibility to offer less than full-time after completing a ramp-up.ย 

The compensation for this role is $145.00 per hour, W2, paid bi-weekly.

What You Can Expect:
  • Our Pre-Operative Medicine Team provides comprehensive outpatient medical evaluation and consultation for complex patients scheduled for surgery.
  • The team works closely with the surgeons, anesthesiologists, primary care physicians and our consultants to coordinate care prior to surgery.
  • The evaluation involves a thorough history and physical, ordering appropriate labs and imaging, interpreting data and determining if patients are medically optimized prior to their surgical procedure.
  • An experienced support staff
  • Access to a physician-friendly advanced Epic EMR
  • NO CALL DUTIES REQUIRED
Minimum Requirements:
  • Board Certified or Eligible inย Internal Medicine or a Medicine sub-specialty
