Job description

Renown Health is proud to team up with Kaiser Permanente, opening two new clinics in Northern Nevada. Join us at the forefront of this collaboration dedicated to expanding high-quality healthcare services in our community.

Position Purpose:

The Clinical Supervisor serves as a clinical leader who identifies patient care efficiencies and works to apply them through the development of clinical information systems and information technology.   As well as being accountable for directing and coordinating the delivery of patient care.   The role of the Supervisor is to assist in achievement of organizational goals through and with the effort of others

This leader will inspire a shared vision of clinical efficiency and act as a hands-on advocate and change agent for promoting electronic use and adoption of the electronic record system, to support the development of the clinical staff and physicians of Renown Health.

Nature and Scope:

This is a clinically focused position that is challenged to maintain a well-organized and functioning department that allows for the enhancement of evidenced based practice and continuity of patient care throughout the healthcare continuum.  The Supervisor coordinates care and collaborates with other professional disciplines as needed, to optimize patient outcomes.

The Supervisor acts as a role model, resource, and coach to all clinical staff to provide ongoing support for professional development,  maintenance of the standards of care and quality outcomes, and  by providing ongoing support through identification, development and use of clinical informatics to maintain and improve high quality, cost-effective patient care.

 

The Supervisor facilitates professional relationships between physicians, nursing and interdisciplinary teams to provide a patient focused plan of care.  The Supervisor will be responsible for engaging the nursing staff to provide evidence based practice, promoting desired patient outcomes and ensuring that practice is congruent with the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics.

The Supervisor has the responsibility and authority for interviewing, hiring, training, counseling, and evaluating clinical staff.  Oversees daily clinical operations, assigns, floats and flexes staff to meet physician and patient care needs as well as productivity standards based on staff education, preparation, training and specific clinical office needs.

If staffing needs arise, the Supervisor may provide direct patient care which can include in-office emergency response to patient incidents.  The incumbent will demonstrate the ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate all patient and family cardiac needs as well as assist with and obtain additional support if necessary for the cardiac patient's physical, motor/sensory adaptation, cognitive and psychosocial needs.

Minimum Qualifications:  Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

Education:

Must have knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English.  Bachelor's degree in nursing, healthcare or related field preferred.

Experience:

Five years of health care experience in a position of increasing responsibility including administrative management experience in nursing or previous experience as a Nursing Supervisor.  Critical care experience preferred.

License(s):

Ability to obtain and maintain State of Nevada Registered Nurse license.

Certification(s):

Current BLS certification by American Heart Association standards required.  ACLS preferred.

Computer / Interfacing:

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies and complete online benefits enrollment, etc.  Must have an understanding of electronic interfacing and the ability to know or learn how to manage said interfaces.
