Job description

OBJECTIVES
  • Provides armed security protection for patrons and employees involved with events and occurrences associated with TPAC. This includes building security and event security for Andrew Jackson Hall, James K. Polk Theater, Andrew Johnson Theater, and War Memorial Auditorium.
  • Upholds and enforces the state criminal statutes of Tennessee for those in attendance at any TPAC event.
  • Assists the Director to increase the safety and security of patrons and employees.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain high visibility in the lobby area and front of house for assigned performance.
  • Assist patrons and employees in order to make a pleasant experience for all.
  • Patrol front of house and backstage areas for suspicious activity.
  • Take appropriate enforcement action as needed.
  • Provide needed escorts for employees.
  • Provide security for money escorts.
The above listed duties are not all inclusive. This position is expected to perform other work related duties as assigned even though they may not be considered primary duties.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Experience Required
Must be a currently commissioned and certified Trooper with The Tennessee Highway Patrol, Metro Nashville Police Officer, or within Davidson County with arrest powers and jurisdiction in TPAC areas.
Skills and Knowledge Required
  • Must have a working knowledge of the Tennessee Criminal Code and Statutes
  • Must be willing and able to train other troopers or Metro Officers in "on-the-job" situations.
  • Must have good people skills so stressful situations can be diffused effectively
