Underground Drop SupervisorLead the Field. Develop the Team. Deliver Quality.

CUI is looking for an experienced, hands-on Underground Drop Supervisor to lead our underground drop operations and help drive safe, efficient, high-quality field performance.

This is more than a position that assigns work and tracks production. We’re looking for a leader who can develop crews, solve problems in the field, hold teams accountable, and create an operation that consistently delivers for our customers.

What You'll DoLead & Develop Field Teams
  • Provide daily leadership and direction to underground drop technicians and subcontractor crews.
  • Coach, train, and mentor team members to improve safety, quality, productivity, and overall performance.
  • Set clear expectations and hold crews accountable for meeting operational and customer standards.
  • Conduct regular performance conversations and provide actionable feedback to help employees grow.
Drive Quality & Customer Experience
  • Oversee underground drop installations, repairs, maintenance, and restoration activities.
  • Perform field inspections and quality checks to ensure work meets CUI and client expectations.
  • Identify recurring quality issues and implement corrective actions, coaching, or process improvements.
  • Ensure job sites are properly restored and completed with a focus on minimizing customer and property impact.
  • Troubleshoot field challenges and technical issues quickly to minimize delays and service disruptions.
Champion Safety
  • Lead by example and create a culture where safety is part of every job—not an afterthought.
  • Enforce CUI safety policies and all applicable OSHA requirements.
  • Conduct job-site safety observations and address unsafe behaviors or conditions immediately.
  • Ensure crews properly use required PPE, tools, and equipment.
Deliver Results
  • Track daily production, completion rates, quality performance, safety, and other operational KPIs.
  • Monitor labor, materials, equipment usage, and other resources to support efficient operations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of completed work, materials, job status, and field activity.
  • Complete required daily and weekly production reports, safety documentation, and expense reporting.
  • Partner with operations leadership to identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and profitability.
What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of experience in underground telecommunications, utility construction, cable installation, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of leadership, supervisory, or crew-lead experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of underground drop installation methods, tools, equipment, restoration, and field safety.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead both internal employees and subcontractor crews.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple crews, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints, maps, utility information, and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and field or production management systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in telecommunications, construction management, business, or a related field is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements.

Physical & Field Requirements

This is an active field leadership position that may require:

  • Working outdoors in varying weather and field conditions.
  • Walking and inspecting active underground construction and installation sites.
  • Frequent bending, standing, climbing, and working around excavation areas.
  • Lifting and carrying tools, equipment, or materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Entering confined or restricted work areas when required.
  • Traveling throughout the assigned market to support crews and inspect work.
