What are Justice Peace?

A Justice of the Peace (JP) is a judicial officer, often appointed or elected, who has the authority to perform a variety of legal functions. These may include witnessing documents, administering oaths, officiating at weddings, and presiding over minor legal matters such as traffic violations or small claims cases. The specific duties and powers of a Justice of the Peace can vary depending on the jurisdiction. JPs play an important role in making legal processes more accessible to the community.
