JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Penn State Behrend is currently seeking student applicants to fill the position of Junker Center Lifeguard.
Responsibilities include:
  • Ensure the health and safety of the patrons utilizing the Junker Center Natatorium. This includes appropriate and efficient accident prevention in the water and surrounding areas as well as emergency response and care of patrons when needed.
  • To enforce the pool rules in an appropriate, fair, and equitable manner and explain the rationale for the rule(s) when needed.
  • Assist the patrons as needed, but without compromising the safety of others using the Natatorium.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures set forth in the Aquatics Manual.
  • Be on time and cover all assigned hours.
  • If unable to work, the lifeguard will find an approved substitute.
  • Maintain an appropriate level of fitness in order to competently perform all job-related tasks.
  • Attend to the cleanliness of the Natatorium and its equipment.
  • Assist in the setup and teardown of the pool and deck for daily and special events.
  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.
  • Must have current Lifeguarding, CPR and AED certifications

  • PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form
  • FBI Criminal Background Check

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES
This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
