Job description

Basic Functions & ScopeThe primary function of this position is to conceptualize and design art, including but not limited to print ads, direct mail, e-marketing, web banners, and websites for a set group of clients. Graphic Designers will work closely with the Account Coordinator Department and Design Team Manager to complete approaching deadlines. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and have experience developing logos from concept to creation.
This is a hybrid position based in the Raleigh office.
Position Responsibilities
Design Theory
  • Apply foundational principles of color theory and typography to design projects with guidance from senior team members and management.
  • Develop simple to moderately complex layouts under supervision, incorporating all provided information from the account team.
  • Perform basic photo manipulation using Photoshop.
  • Produce logos and visual assets as directed.

Quality Control
  • Review copy for basic grammatical and spelling errors prior to submission.
  • Confirm that the content of advertisement aligns with what was requested.
  • Flag discrepancies or unclear information to a supervisor or account coordinator for resolution.

Technical
  • Follow provided graphic specifications and export files in the correct file type
  • Build familiarity with with Adobe Creative Suite through daily use
  • Develop working knowledge of internal platforms such as Adworks, Slack, LucidLink, etc
  • Adjust effectively to evolving technology and processes.

Communication
  • Communicate openly with team members, supervisors, and account coordinators when clarification is needed.
  • Participate actively in team collaboration.
  • Ask for assistance proactively when encountering unfamiliar tasks and challenges.

File Organization
  • Maintain clean, organized project files free of unnecessary layers, clutter, and unused assets.
  • Follow established file naming conventions consistently.
  • Ensure Indesign files are packaged properly.

Time Management
  • Complete assigned projects in a timely manner and manage workload effectively.
  • Show consistent improvement in speed and efficiency as experience grows.
  • Assist teammates with overflow work when capacity allows.

Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, or related field, or equivalent portfolio demonstrating foundational skills.
  • 0-3 years of professional graphic design experience.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and receptiveness to feedback.
  • Organizational aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Logo design experience

Working Conditions
Graphic Designers are seated for 6-8 hours per day, performing constant motions such as typing and using other computer equipment. Certain situations may require bending, squatting, or lifting objects that do not exceed more that 25lbs.
