THE ROLE

The Salesforce Principal Technical Architect designs and manages the delivery of technical projects on the Salesforce platform, ensuring client needs and technical standards are met on every engagement. The ideal candidate mentors and guides junior development resources, supporting their growth while keeping every solution technically sound. Our Technical Architects work across Salesforce products and APIs, Apex, Visualforce, Lightning, AWS, Heroku, and integration and ETL tools, and stay current as the cloudโ€‘computing ecosystem evolves.

This is a hybrid role based in our downtown Chicago office.

WHAT YOU'LL DO Technical Architecture & Design
  • Design transformational technical solutions, working directly with customers to meet their business requirements while aligning with industry best practices.
  • Architect Salesforce and integration solutions in partnership with the functional project team and client stakeholders.
  • Create application and technical design documents that apply Salesforce best practices and integrate Salesforce cleanly into the customer's infrastructure.
  • Ensure application and integration development best practices, lead environment management, testing, and Salesforce platform education.
Delivery & Trusted Advisory
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, driving conversations with customers' IT resources.
  • Enforce sound development practices and ensure quality delivery of enterprise solutions.
Mentorship & Collaboration
  • Mentor junior technical resources and contribute to their career development.
  • Contribute to internal best practices and standards documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with strong communication skills, especially when teaching complex concepts.
WHAT YOU BRING Required
  • 9+ years of experience developing technology solutions, with deep expertise in Salesforce architecture.
  • 6+ years managing external client projects, with increasing responsibility in business consulting and systems development.
  • Track record overseeing development resources and mentoring technical teams.
  • Relevant Salesforce certifications (Platform App Builder, Salesforce Platform Developer I, Salesforce Platform Developer II).
  • Expert knowledge of the Salesforce development and declarative technology stack (Apex, SOQL, SOSL, Process Builder, Lightning, Visualforce).
  • Experience with integration platforms (MuleSoft, Boomi, Jitterbit, Informatica, etc.) and security practices.
  • Experience with integrated development environments, source code management systems, and workflow management systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and defend a point of view to a variety of audiences.
  • Willingness to travel as needed based on client preference, typically 10โ€“20%.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without limitation.

  • Experience with Salesforce Revenue Cloud.
  • Experience with web development languages (AngularJS, React, jQuery, etc.) and software design patterns.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Base salary $130,000-$150,000, commensurate with experience.
