About the Opportunity Our client, a well-established and growing real estate company, is seeking a Junior Staff Accountant (A/R) to join their collaborative accounting team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and looking to grow within a stable and professional real estate environment. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day accounts receivable functions including invoicing, cash applications, and payment posting Prepare and distribute tenant invoices, statements, and billing adjustments Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances in a professional and timely manner Research and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues Reconcile A/R subledger to the general ledger and assist with month-end close Process and record incoming payments (ACH, checks, wires, online payments) Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation Assist with tenant account reconciliations and reporting for property management teams Support accounting team with ad hoc reporting, audit preparation, and special projects Collaborate cross-functionally with property management, leasing, and finance teams Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 1–3 years of accounting or accounts receivable experience Strong understanding of basic accounting principles Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs a plus) Experience with accounting or property management software preferred (Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, or similar) High attention to detail with strong organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
