Job description

Job Summary:
DT Pro is seeking a Junior System Administratorto support our NSWC team in Corona, CA! You will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to our employees and clients, ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems, networks, and software. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT support, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. There is an estimated 10%+ travel per year aboard U.S. Navy ships.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform regular maintenance and updates on IT equipment and software.
  • Assist in the setup and deployment of new hardware and software.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls Monitor system performance and ensure optimal operation.
  • Document and track support requests and resolutions using a ticketing system.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on IT best practices and tools.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to develop and implement IT policies and procedures.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to provide innovative solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Support routine STIG hardening and compliance efforts for systems, software, and applications.
  • Perform routine network scans across Windows systems and network devices.
  • Conduct patching of network vulnerabilities.
  • Upload clean scan results quarterly to security center.
  • Ensure Nessus plugins and software is up to date.
  • Monitor & detect network traffic, system logs, and applications for threat detection.
  • Upload CMRS results to high side for visibility.
  • Support incident response activities and system issue resolution.
  • Manage and analyze Splunk data and oversee dashboards analysis.
  • Manage Tanium, Nessus, and Splunk for both classified and unclassified cyber security.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • 2+ years of experience in IT support or a similar technical role.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification (required before hire).
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including system hardening, STIG compliance, vulnerability remediation, and incident response support.
  • Proficiency in Windows Server 2019, Windows 11, and Linux operating systems.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Active Directory, and common business applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to explain technical procedures clearly
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to travel 35%+ annually (trips may last 1-4 weeks).
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, kneeling, or maneuvering in confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 2+ years of database, network administration, or system administration experience.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS or Azure.
  • Ability to script and automate tasks using PowerShell or similar tools.
  • Additional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, etc.

The compensation range for this position: $35.00 - $38.00 hourly
