Purpose of the Position:


The role focuses on providing technical accounting expertise to the executive team of Bioriginal, while supporting accounting operations across the organization. The role serves as a key accounting resource, providing guidance and mentorship to team members and applying a continuous improvement mindset to enhance accounting processes and reporting systems. The Senior Accountant plays an important role in supporting the financial health of the organization.


Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Prepares and assists with preparation of month-end and year-end financial statements.
  • Ensures the Company is following accounting best practices.
  • Performs variance analysis and prepares account reconciliations.
  • Generates various accounting and financial reports to meet the needs of the business.
  • Provides general oversight to various accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and taxes.
  • Analyzes transactional data and prepares journal entries as appropriate.
  • Assists with subsidiary and parent Company consolidations, including international subsidiaries.
  • Assesses and recommends improvements in accounting procedures and systems.
  • Assesses internal controls (including risk assessments) and provides recommendations where gaps exist.
  • Assists with financial and tax audits.
  • Stays on top best practices, trends, changing legislation and ensures the Company is in compliance.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to junior accounting staff as required.
  • Participates in special projects, system implementations, financial analysis and other requests as needed.


Skills, Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
  • CPA designation (or actively working towards) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of related experience is required, with previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in utilizing ERP systems, accounting software and Microsoft excel is required.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Cashflow management
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy is required.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills required.
