As a junior software engineer, your duties and responsibilities may vary based on what company you work for. Overall, your job is to learn from senior engineers and developers on how to be a software engineer and in what ways you can develop and utilize the technologies of the business to do so. Job description

DevSecOps Mission-Systems Software Engineer

The Opportunity:

As a Full Stack Developer, you can resolve a problem with a complete end-to-end solution in a fast and agile environment. If you're looking for the chance to not just develop software, but to architect systems that make a meaningful difference to national defense, we need you on our team. We're seeking a seasoned Full Stack Lead with the engineering depth to build enterprise-grade mission systems and the leadership skills to guide delivery teams.

As a Lead Full Stack Developer supporting The Department of War (DoW) and the Intelligence Community (IC), you'll help modernize ISR mission and weapon-system environments, integrating cloud, platform engineering, DevSecOps, microservices, and digital thread concepts into resilient software solutions. You'll ensure every solution considers the broader architecture, security posture, and future capability enhancements required to transition technologies into operational use.

Join us. The world can't wait.

You Have:

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering

  • 3+ years of experience leading teams or technical delivery

  • Experience architecting and deploying full stack applications, including backend services, front-end components, and API-driven integrations

  • Experience with two modern languages, such as Python, Java, C++, JavaScript, or TypeScript

  • Experience with a major front-end framework, such as React, Angular, or Vue

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, automated testing, and secure coding practices

  • Experience with containers and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, or OpenShift

  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and environment automation such as Terraform or Ansible

  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience integrating software with MBSE or digital engineering environments, such as SysML, Cameo, or MagicDraw

  • Experience developing software for DoD or Intelligence Community mission systems, including ISR or weapon-system modernization

  • Experience with MLOps, data engineering pipelines, or modeling and simulation tools including STK, MATLAB, or Simulink

  • Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud architecture, zero-trust principles, service mesh, and enterprise observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or OpenTelemetry

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Professional Certifications such as CISSP, CKAD, CKA, AWS, Azure, or Security+ Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
