Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL)seeksa creative and talented engineer who is passionate about solving problems and improving the lives of people. SEL develops critical products that provide the main interface for protecting, controlling,monitoring& analyzingthe power grid.Our team supports our manufacturing teams across the globe. We focus on buildinghighly available& resilient distributed software with an emphasis on automation systems.

The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about creating high quality software that provides value to its users. This candidate is excited about solving unique and challenging problems and finds joy in inventing creative solutions. They also seek opportunities to expand their skills and experiences and teach others.

This role is full stack, working on both frontend and backend development. Your primary focus will be designing,implementingand supporting React based frontends and C# based backends and integratingwith MES and ERP systems and interfacing with factory equipment to create highly automated manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on the specification, design, implementation, deployment, and testing of software applications.

  • Recommend and implement processes following industry best practices for developing, testing, and deploying software.

  • Prepare andmaintaindesign and specification documentation.

  • Serve as a technical contact for internal customers.

  • Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

  • Understand. Create. Simplify.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree inComputer Science,CS, or a related field orequivalent practical experience

  • 2+ years' experience withapplicationdevelopment, including:

  • Databaseintegration

  • C#andMicrosoft.Net

  • Ability to learnnew skills and assume new responsibilities

  • Excellent writing, documentation, and speaking skills

Pay Range Data

Associate Software Engineer, $84,200 - $124,500. Software Engineer, $97,700 - $144,400. Our compensation ranges are based on the responsibilities of the role. Starting pay is determined individually and considers factors such as relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and training. Candidates may be considered at different levels based on their background. As a result, pay may vary to align with the level of the role.
