About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Junior Estimator with 0-2 years of experience in drywall and ceilings construction to join our growing team in Columbia, SC. This role is critical in supporting project success through accurate cost estimating, contract analysis, and quality-focused project execution.
The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and experienced in reading plans, pricing projects, and collaborating with project teams to ensure timely and profitable delivery.
Key Responsibilities
    • Prepare accurate and competitive project cost estimates for drywall and ceilings scope
    • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications
    • Review and interpret construction documents, contracts, and bid packages
    • Price and manage change orders, including cost analysis and documentation
    • Conduct site inspections to validate scope, identify risks, and support estimating accuracy
    • Collaborate with project managers, field teams, and subcontractors during preconstruction and execution phases
    • Monitor project costs and support budget tracking and cost control
    • Assist in quality control / quality assurance (QC/QA) processes to ensure compliance with project specifications
    • Maintain organized documentation of estimates, proposals, and revisions
    • Support continuous improvement in estimating processes and tools

Required Qualifications
    • 0-2 years of experience in estimating within drywall, ceilings, or related construction trades preferred, but not required
    • Strong experience in:
    • Project pricing and cost estimation
    • Change order preparation and management
    • Site inspections and field coordination
    • Contract review and interpretation
    • Quality control / quality assurance processes
    • Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Areas of Familiarity (Preferred Construction Scope Experience)
    • Exterior metal panel systems
    • Drywall systems and assemblies
    • Interior framing (metal stud framing)
    • Acoustical / sound panel systems
    • Division 10 specialties (toilet partitions, accessories, lockers, etc.)

Preferred Skills & Software Experience
    • Proficiency in:

    • OnCenter
    • QuickBid
    • BuzzBid
    • Experience with drywall and acoustical ceiling systems is highly preferred
