Job Summary:
AeroVironment is a leading autonomous systems company in the U.S. seeking a Senior Development Engineer specializing in DevOps. The role involves designing and supporting corporate DevOps pipeline operations, facilitating automation of software deployment, and collaborating with various software development teams.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Administers and maintains Gitlab and Subversion
โ€ข Architects and delivers DevOps pipeline operations supporting automated delivery of CI/CD pipelining for corporate-wide software releases
โ€ข Creates and maintains Docker images and containers
โ€ข Identifies and automates manual processes
โ€ข Actively participates in enhancing current build infrastructure, deployment, and DevOps processes.
โ€ข Works with tools and platforms like JIRA and Sharepoint
โ€ข Develops and maintains software installation tools, processes, and packages
โ€ข Creates and maintains DevOps Process and Policies
โ€ข Recognize and reuse common code base if necessary to support different programs and projects
โ€ข Delivers work on time according to agreed completion dates and project schedule & budget
โ€ข Operates in a continuous learning environment and provides guidance and mentoring to all stakeholders
โ€ข Works on significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles

Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
โ€ข Minimum 8 years of work experience managing diverse DevOps operations, and tools (e.g., GitLab, GitHub), including branching, tagging, merging and release management oversight.
โ€ข Minimum of 2 years of experience working with containerization (Docker or ECS), orchestration, service discovery experience with Windows and Linux hosts
โ€ข Experience with one or more major cloud platform providers (e.g. Azure, AWS)
โ€ข Demonstrated success with application delivery in mid-size (2000+ staff) corporations
โ€ข Strong scripting skills
โ€ข U.S. Citizenship required

โ€ข Advanced degree is preferred
โ€ข Uses skills to contribute to development of company objectives and principles to achieve goals in creative and effective ways
