Our SharePoint Engineer is responsible for designing, building, configuring, securing, maintaining, and continuously improving the SharePoint Online platform and related Microsoft 365 collaboration technologies. This role partners closely with Infrastructure, Information Security, Identity Management, Compliance, and Business teams to deliver scalable collaboration solutions that support knowledge sharing, governance, automation, and AI-enabled productivity across the enterprise.
The SharePoint Engineer will serve as a senior technical resource responsible for site architecture, permissions, governance, content management, security, compliance, automation, and operational support of the SharePoint environment.

Responsibilities
As part of the Information Technology Team, our SharePoint Engineer will be accountable for the architecture, administration, security, governance, and optimization of the SharePoint platform and related Microsoft 365 services.
SharePoint Engineering & Administration
You will:
  • Build, configure, deploy, and maintain SharePoint Online sites, hubs, document libraries, lists, pages, navigation structures, content types, and metadata
  • Design and implement scalable SharePoint site architectures that align with business requirements and governance standards
  • Administer and support enterprise SharePoint environments, ensuring platform availability, performance, and usability
  • Develop standards, best practices, and governance processes for SharePoint site owners and business users
  • Troubleshoot complex SharePoint issues involving permissions, content management, search, site performance, and integrations
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, site standards, and support procedures
  • Perform SharePoint migrations, modernization efforts, and content lifecycle management initiatives

Microsoft 365 Security, Identity & Compliance
You will:
  • Manage SharePoint security models, permissions, inheritance structures, external sharing controls, and access governance
  • Partner with Information Security teams to ensure SharePoint environments meet security and compliance requirements
  • Administer and support Microsoft Entra ID integrations related to SharePoint authentication, authorization, group management, and identity governance
  • Implement and manage Microsoft Purview policies related to SharePoint, including:
    • Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
    • Sensitivity Labels
    • Retention Labels
    • Records Management
    • eDiscovery
    • Compliance Reporting
  • Participate in security assessments, audits, remediation efforts, and governance reviews

Database & Platform Integration
You will:
  • Understand and support database concepts as they relate to SharePoint environments
  • Work with SQL Server and related database technologies supporting SharePoint solutions
  • Assist with performance analysis, data integrity reviews, backup validation, and troubleshooting activities involving SharePoint data structures
  • Support integrations between SharePoint and enterprise applications using APIs, Microsoft Graph, Power Platform, and other Microsoft technologies
  • Develop automated administration and monitoring solutions using PowerShell and related automation tools

AI & Modern Workplace Innovation
You will:
  • Support AI initiatives leveraging Microsoft Copilot and other Microsoft AI-enabled services
  • Ensure SharePoint content, permissions, and governance structures are optimized for AI-powered search and content discovery
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI-driven productivity improvements
  • Assist in developing governance frameworks for AI access to enterprise content and data
  • Evaluate emerging Microsoft AI capabilities and provide recommendations for implementation

Service Delivery & Continuous Improvement
You will:
  • Provide Tier 3 SharePoint support and technical leadership
  • Participate in incident, change, and problem management processes
  • Monitor platform health, adoption trends, and operational metrics
  • Recommend and implement improvements that enhance user experience, security, and platform performance
  • Mentor junior administrators and support personnel

Qualifications
The Experience You Will Bring (Minimum Requirements):
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of senior-level SharePoint administration and engineering experience
  • Extensive experience building, configuring, and maintaining SharePoint Online environments
  • Experience designing and managing SharePoint information architecture, document management, metadata, and governance frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience managing SharePoint permissions and security models within large enterprises
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) identity and access management
  • Experience implementing and administering Microsoft Purview compliance and governance capabilities
  • Understanding of database structures and SQL concepts as they pertain to SharePoint environments
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and SharePoint automation
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and collaboration services
  • Experience supporting AI-enabled technologies, Microsoft Copilot, or enterprise AI initiatives
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities

Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft certifications related to SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Entra Identity, Security, or Purview
  • Experience with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI)
  • Experience with SharePoint migrations and tenant consolidations
  • Experience supporting M&A integration activities involving collaboration platforms
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Graph API and custom SharePoint integrations
  • Experience implementing enterprise information governance and records retention strategies
  • Familiarity with AI governance frameworks and Microsoft Copilot readiness programs
  • Experience supporting large, multi-brand enterprise environments
