Job Title :Full-Stack Software Engineer, Cloud Licensing Platform
Location :REMOTE
Job Description:
We are making networking easier, faster, and smarter with technology that simply works. Our cloud teams build and operate the our dashboard and the services behind it, supporting millions of network devices and the customers who rely on them every day.aki
The Cloud Licensing team builds the systems that determine how our products are licensed, entitled, activated, and governed across our cloud platform. Our work sits at the intersection of product experience, infrastructure, reliability, security, and compliance.
As a full-stack engineer on Cloud Licensing, you will help build clean, reliable workflows for customers and internal teams while also strengthening the backend services, data models, and cloud infrastructure that make those workflows work at scale. The team supports regulated U.S. federal cloud environments, including FedRAMP Moderate today and future FedRAMP High and DoD Impact Level 5 work, so we value engineers who can turn security and auditability requirements into practical, maintainable software.
U.S. Citizenship and Work Location Requirement
This role supports U.S. federal cloud environments governed by federal customer and contract requirements. To comply with requirements applicable to this role, the successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and must perform work for this role from within the United States.
This requirement is specific to this role's federal work
What You Will Do
• Design, build, test, and operate full-stack licensing features that support product activation, entitlement management, renewals, audits, and customer-facing workflows.
• Build rich web experiences using React, Redux, or similar frameworks, and connect them to clear, reliable backend APIs.
• Work across Ruby on Rails services, PostgreSQL data models, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-based production systems.
• Solve scaling and reliability problems for licensing systems that serve large customers, regulated environments, and critical business workflows.
• Translate security and compliance needs into pragmatic engineering work, including access controls, audit logging, secrets management, change management, observability, and operational evidence.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, Security, Compliance, SRE, and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions without losing the simplicity our customers expect.
• Write maintainable production code, review code, improve tests, document operational practices, and help the team make sound technical decisions.
You Are an Ideal Candidate If You
• Have 5+ years of experience writing professional production code and tests.
• Have built rich web UIs with React, Redux, or comparable front-end frameworks.
• Know your way around web backend technologies such as Ruby on Rails or similar frameworks.
• Can design efficient relational database schemas and reason about query performance; we use PostgreSQL.
• Are comfortable working with cloud infrastructure and delivery systems such as Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and production observability tooling.
• Care about reliability, security, auditability, and maintainability as core parts of the product.
• Enjoy working on a small, autonomous team and can communicate clearly with engineers, product partners, and non-engineering stakeholders.
• Bring good judgment to ambiguous technical problems and can move work forward with clarity.
Bonus Points For
• Experience with FedRAMP Moderate or High, DoD IL4 or IL5, FISMA, GovRAMP, AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or similar regulated environments.
• Experience with licensing, entitlement, billing, subscription, identity, or access-control systems.
• Hands-on experience with IAM concepts or protocols such as OAuth, SAML, SCIM, RBAC, or least-privilege authorization models.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, secrets management, service mesh, zero-trust patterns, compliance automation, or evidence collection.
• Experience with asynchronous patterns, message queues, event streams, search technologies, or large-scale data workflows.
• Interest in security, networking, technical leadership, or mentoring other engineers.
