Potential candidates must reside near the north New Jersey area

The successful candidate will work from home and will be dispatched to client sites in the north New Jersey area to troubleshoot and resolve AV issues found in Board rooms and conference rooms.

Description:

TEKsystems is looking for a AV Service Engineer to service their existing customers in the area. Seeking candidates who are well versed troubleshooters in Audio Video technology. Potential candidates must have experience with major AV brands such as Crestron and Biamp. Will be providing in person troubleshooting of audio video systems found in executive board rooms and conference centers. Must be professional and have the ability to interface with enterprise customers.

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related the following types of equipment and/or

systems:

1. Minimum of 3 or more years of experience with AV troubleshooting

2. AV troubleshooting - Looking for some who can troubleshoot and understands Crestron systems

3. Ability to reverse engineer legacy AV systems

4. Ability to debug newly built systems

5. Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with the following products and related systems:

o Extron equipment

o Biamp, QSC audio DSP products and systems

o Cisco, POLY, LOGITECH video conference systems,

o Luxul, NETGEAR, CISCO switches

o Video wall systems: Planar, UNILUMEN, LG, Samsung, Barco products and systems

6. Testing- Someone that has done testing with multimeter and can troubleshoot issues

7. Ability to research and specify replacement products

8. Intermediate to advanced AV Networking skills

9. Cabling and connectors: ability to crimp and solder.

10. Advanced knowledgeable of signal flow and low voltage electrical concepts; i.e., Ohms law

11. Customer interfacing- Someone that does customer service work and interfaces with customers regularly.

Description:

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related the following types of equipment and/or systems:

• Custom Control systems: Crestron DM and NVX / AMX

• Complex audio video systems found in executive board rooms and conference centers

• Video teleconferencing equipment and systems

• Audio Visual over IP (AVoIP) networks for the use of audio-visual data over LAN, WAN and internet.

• Audio DSP based systems to include amplifiers, speakers and microphones

• Projection display devices and systems

• Video wall equipment and systems.

• Digital signage equipment and systems

• To a lesser degree: RF Systems (analog and digital)

Other Responsibilities

• Ability to conduct Preventative Maintenance testing

• Site surveys related to service agreement quotes

• Ability to write concise service reports and or system site surveys

• Excellent verbal and written skills

• Ability to successfully manage multiple service projects

• Ability to lead and mentor junior/intermediate level field service techs

Education

• A two-year diploma from a college of technical school, or equivalent experience

• CTS certification highly preferred, or equivalent experience

Experience:

3 years minimum field service experience

Other:

• Must maintain a valid driver’s license with clean driving record

• Must be able to stand, kneel and/or crouch for long periods of time

• Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding

• Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds
