TYLin is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to drive high-impact Rail + Transit projects across the Bay Area and greater Northern California region.
This is a career-defining opportunity to work with leading agencies, guide multidisciplinary project teams, and help expand TYLin's presence on some of the region's most transformative transportation programs.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
The Opportunity
Based in San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Sacramento, or nearby Northern California locations, you'll oversee the delivery of complex transit and rail infrastructure projects - from urban mobility enhancements to major rail corridor improvements. You'll build strong relationships with clients such as:
BART, Caltrain, SF MTA (SFMTA), VTA, Capitol Corridor, ACE, California High-Speed Rail Authority, Caltrans Districts 3, 4 & 10, and regional transportation authorities across Northern California.
You'll be a key leader in project execution, client engagement, and strategic growth across the region, while mentoring and empowering the next generation of engineers.
What You'll Do
  • Lead the delivery of Rail + Transit and major infrastructure design projects from planning through final design.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for Northern California clients, building long-term partnerships and trust.
  • Manage multidisciplinary engineering teams and ensure quality, technical rigor, and efficient project delivery.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, supporting their technical and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with regional and national leadership to drive pursuit strategies and secure new work.
  • Represent TYLin in industry organizations and regional client engagements across Northern California.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in California (or ability to obtain within 12 months) OR;
  • Registered Architect or Licensed Architect, demonstrating experience in the design of transit or transportation-related buildings.
  • 10+ years of experience delivering complex civil or rail/transit design projects.
  • Strong record of managing public-sector transportation projects and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence building relationships with agency partners.
  • Demonstrated success in balancing project delivery with client service and business development.
