Job description

About the Job:
As a Junior NPI Engineer, you will provide technical support, guidance, and evaluation for new product and process development programs. This role involves working with printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) and Surface Mount Technology (SMT) equipment within an electronic manufacturing environment.
The candidate will also support system assembly activities. Our ideal Junior NPI Engineer is highly collaborative and able to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, business partners, and production lines.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical guidance and assessment for PCBA, SMT equipment, and mechanical assembly processes
  • Prepare engineering documentation for production and support prototype builds
  • Serve as the primary interface with customers on engineering-related issues
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes, influence cost efficiency, and provide recommendations (DFM/DFX)
  • Design and procure tooling and fixtures for assembly processes during the prototype stage
  • Lead product transfer activities across global manufacturing sites
  • Participate in advanced technology development initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
  • Master's degree or MBA in Engineering or related field is a plus

EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of engineering experience
  • Experience in electronic manufacturing is preferred

Preferred Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies is a plus
  • Familiarity with Valor DFM is preferred
  • Understanding of NPI processes
  • IPC certification or training preferred
  • Experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks

Job Status: Full-time, Exempt
