Job description

SiloSmashers is seeking a Junior Financial Analyst to support our federal law enforcement client with transaction processing.

The Financial Analyst gathers, interprets, and evaluates financial information and develops recommendations to achieve the Unit and/or Sections financial objectives. Performs a variety of budgetary functions implementing the organizations budgetary program, policies, and procedures. Provides support in the areas of budget, billing, reporting and financial management for initiatives of various projects, Units, and Sections. Provides insight on financial trends, suggests optimization strategies, and offers insight into potential business models.

Work Description:

  • Provide information to management by assembling and summarizing data; preparing reports; making presentations of findings analyses and recommendations.
  • Calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.
  • Forecast management plans and prepares monthly performance plans, explaining variances.
  • Assist in determining financial consequences of alternative methods, plans, and strategies.
  • Participate in change management and contingency management processes.
  • Identifies and proposes solutions to management problems characterized by their breadth, importance, and severity.

Junior Financial Analyst Qualifications:

The Junior Financial Analyst shall have the following qualifications:

  • Must have a Top Secret
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with two (2) years or more of financial analyst, budget formulation, and budget execution experience. Educational requirement may be waived if the candidate has five (5) or more years of experience.
  • Two (2) years or more experience in performing financial calculations such as time Value of Money, Annual Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return, Periodic Amortization, and using

financial calculator and excel spreadsheets.

  • Two (2) years or more experience calculating complex figures, forecasting, and preparing budgets, and conducting financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports.
  • Two (2) years or more of experience analyzing and applying problem solving methods to identify complex problems, draw conclusions, make recommendations, and provide solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles.
  • Ability to calculate financial figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions.
