Who We Are Looking for and What You Will Do as a WinOps Sr Systems Engineer
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Sr Systems Engineer to support and oversee critical IT infrastructure and enterprise systems in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This position manages Active Directory, Exchange Cloud Technologies, Windows Server, virtualization, security, backups and disaster recovery, desktop management, and systems monitoring, while leading infrastructure initiatives, supporting operational excellence, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Manage and maintain core infrastructure including Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V), plus Azure resources, PKI, and internal DNS across a hybrid, multi-tenant environment
  • Administer Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online - including mail flow, licensing, compliance, and collaboration tools - and implement security solutions such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, endpoint protection, and Microsoft Defender/Zero Trust controls alongside backup and disaster recovery programs
  • Monitor and optimize system and server performance, and manage endpoint devices across Windows and Apple platforms using Microsoft Intune and Configuration Manager, including imaging, patching, and application deployment
  • Develop and manage automation and business solutions using Azure Automation, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse, while identifying opportunities to apply AI responsibly across the team's work
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives with strong communication, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority, while planning, documenting, and reporting on projects and processes
  • Mentor junior team members while fostering collaboration, cultural awareness, and effective conflict resolution across a diverse group of stakeholders One to two years of hands-on experience in systems engineering, systems administration, or a related IT infrastructure role

What You Will Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Five to seven years of hands-on experience in systems engineering, systems administration, or a related IT infrastructure role
  • Expert in administering enterprise technologies, including Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange Online, Windows Server, System Center, virtualization platforms, desktop management, systems monitoring, and backup and disaster recovery solutions
  • Expert knowledge of security, best practices and experience supporting secure, reliable, and highly available IT environments
  • Ability to plan, document, implement, and support infrastructure projects while effectively managing multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, resolve conflicts, mentor team members, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement

*Position is hybrid/in-office located in Salt Lake City.
