Job description

Greenfield Engineering, a Saalex Company is seeking Junior Software Developer in Patuxent River, MD to support mission‑critical DoD programs through the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software solutions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in computer science, hands‑on development experience, and familiarity with Agile methodologies to contribute to secure, scalable applications in a collaborative environment.

$75k-$85k annually (depending on experience)

Onsite.

Essential Functions
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using modern programming practices
  • Write clean, efficient, and well‑documented code in C# and other object‑oriented languages
  • Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand‑ups, and retrospectives
  • Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects to ensure system reliability and performance
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and implement technical solutions
  • Support system enhancements by adding new features and optimizing existing functionality
  • Contribute to software testing efforts, including unit testing and integration testing
  • Assist with version control, build pipelines, and deployment activities
  • Other duties as assigned or required
Required
  • Experience developing in C#
  • Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum or similar)
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Experience with debugging, testing, and maintaining applications
Desired
  • Experience with Python, Java, or JavaScript
  • Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS preferred)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or Jenkins
  • Experience with web development frameworks (React, Flask, Spring Boot)
  • Knowledge of databases (SQL or NoSQL)
Education / Years of Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Engineering discipline (must be a completed, accredited degree) required.
  • 1–3 years of relevant professional or internship experience in software development
Security Clearance

Active Secret clearance required. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
