The IS Desktop Specialist is a key player in Trimble Corporate IS. This position is perfect for someone looking to leverage their expertise in providing technical support and ensuring operational excellence.
While providing exceptional customer support, you will uphold the integrity and credibility of the department as a whole. Critical core competencies for this position are customer service, professionalism, communication, and strong technical skills. The focus for this position is on service desk support, ticket queue coordination, process ownership, inventory control and project participation. You will provide informal guidance to team members, and may act as a team lead for projects and initiatives.
Key Exciting Responsibilities
  • You will support a variety of end-users onsite in our Alpharetta office. You will interface and collaborate with other IS departments to ensure that the office and users are working efficiently and that their technical needs are met. You'll provide world-class customer service and work with a cohesive global IS team.
  • Support end users with desktop support and deployment of hardware and software.
  • Display a high-level of customer service and professionalism.
  • Deliver timely support through a sense of urgency - communicate progress of incidents and service requests to end-users throughout the lifecycle of their ticket.
  • Resolve issues individually or in conjunction with other IS staff and resources in a timely and effective manner.
  • Communicate with peers, other IS staff, IS management, business group managers, and other employees in support of end users and the corporate IS infrastructure.
  • Leverage excellent troubleshooting skills and technical proficiencies in support of a variety of hardware (Dell, Apple, Samsung, Google, etc.) and operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux, etc.).
  • Increase operational effectiveness and efficiency via process improvement, automations, etc.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with 2 years of IT experience, or an Associate's degree with 6 years of experience.
  • Relevant IT certifications such as ITIL or CompTIA A+.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills in English (verbal and written) to effectively support non-technical personnel and develop documentation/training materials.
  • Independently maintain and renew relationships with established suppliers, partners and stakeholders.
  • Thoroughly document technical information in ITSM systems and effectively manage the ticket lifecycle.
  • Experience in asset lifecycle management.
  • Thorough experience deploying and troubleshooting platforms and endpoints including, but not limited to: Windows, macOS, Linux, cellular devices, tablets, printers, conference room equipment, etc.
  • Foundational knowledge of networks, cybersecurity, client-server model, on-prem and cloud-based endpoint management platforms, etc.
  • Proven experience with macOS and Linux to deploy and troubleshoot the OS using existing tools and documentation.

  • Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace for enterprise collaboration and project management.
