Job Summary:
Salas O'Brien is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design electrical systems including lighting, power, fire alarm, telecom, and security for institutional projects in the higher education, government, and healthcare markets.
Job duties include:
  • Responsible for designing building systems and producing construction documentation for institutional projects in the higher education, government and healthcare markets.
  • Design electrical systems including lighting, power, fire alarm, telecom and security.
  • Develop calculations for lighting systems and associated controls.
  • Develop electrical system design calculations.
  • Prepare detailed design documents in REVIT.
  • Perform QA/QC design work.
  • Lead a project team and manage projects.
  • Coordinate with Owners and Architects.
  • Coordinate work with other disciplines.
  • Complete code compliance research.
  • Oversee and provide guidance to junior engineers.
  • Assist in the procurement of new work, including the development of client relations.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • U.S. Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Valid state of North Carolina PE license.
  • 5 years' progressively responsible, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Experience with Blue Beam and Newforma.
  • Experience with Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Experience using calculation software applications to successfully calculate, record, and affirm design decisions for system designs.
