Job description

Description:
  • Lead the development of design and technical documents through all phases of projects.
  • Prepare, plan, and develop project design elements including, but not limited to:
    • Rezoning & Entitlement Applications, Preliminary Plans, and Site & Subdivision Plans
    • Open and closed storm drainage systems including stormwater management
    • Water and Sanitary Sewer system design
    • Compliance with zoning ordinances, proffers, and applicable facility standards
    • Erosion and sediment control plans and design E&S control measures in accordance with state criteria
  • Perform QA/QC of own work and the work of team members
  • Utilize working knowledge of VDOT, state, and local standards, policies, and procedures
  • Design and create technical documents in Civil 3D or in AutoCAD using Carlson Design Software
  • Advance and lead planning studies, preliminary and final design plan production, and project permitting
  • Train and mentor new and junior level staff members
  • Remain current with Local, State, and Federal design standards and regulations to ensure compliance
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in all phases of services in planning, design, and management.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Exemplary teamwork, interpersonal, and project management skills.
