Job Summary:
Independent Software, Inc. is focused on mission-critical operations, and they are seeking a Software Engineer Level 1 to develop, maintain, and enhance their software systems. The role involves contributing to the full software development lifecycle and collaborating within Agile teams to deliver reliable solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze user requirements and translate them into software design and functionality
• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and components
• Debug software and resolve defects in a timely manner
• Modify existing software to improve performance or add new functionality
• Integrate software into new or existing systems and environments
• Develop and execute basic database queries to support data processing
• Participate in code reviews and follow development best practices
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Collaborate within Agile teams to support iterative development
Qualifications:
Required:
• Experience with one or more programming languages (Java, Python, C, or C++)
• Experience developing, testing, and debugging software
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
• Basic experience with databases and writing queries (SQL or similar)
• Understanding of software design and system integration concepts
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required OR Seven (7) years of Software Engineering experience OR Four (4) additional years of Software Engineering experience may be substituted for a degree

• Familiarity with Git or other version control tools
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines or automated testing
• Experience with Docker or Kubernetes
