Senior Java Developer w/ Angular

We are seeking a Senior Java Developer with strong Angular experience to design and develop enterprise software applications using the Twelve-Factor App methodology. The successful candidate will build modern web applications and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and REST APIs, working closely with product design and engineering teams to deliver innovative, high-performing, and accessible solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop software applications using Twelve-Factor App methodology from functional requirements.
  • Design and develop applications using Angular, Java, REST API, and Spring Boot.
  • Develop innovative UI design and web components in collaboration with other subject matter experts.
  • Continually assess advancements in technology to recommend improved solutions for software delivery.
  • Implement Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) using Angular, JavaScript, JSP, HTML, CSS, XML, AJAX, and jQuery.
  • Collaborate with product design and engineering teams to understand and translate business needs.
  • Design web page components compliant with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (29 U.S.C. 794d).
  • Design and develop microservices using Spring Boot, Java, and RESTful architecture.
  • Develop SOAP-based web services using JAX-WS, Apache Axis, and WSDL.
  • Apply DevOps practices and CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, Git, and Bitbucket, with experience on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, QA, and project managers.
  • Develop unit test cases for Java classes using JUnit, Mockito, and PowerMock.
  • Participate in technical design and development discussions, proposing solutions to enhance architecture and code quality.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior and mid-level developers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and React.
  • Extensive design and programming skills in Java and JEE technologies.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with UI frameworks such as Angular.
  • Experience working on Agile projects, with strong knowledge of Agile terminology and tools.
  • Master''s degree with 5+ years of experience, Bachelor''s degree with 7+ years of experience, or 13+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Required Skills
  • Experience designing high-throughput, low-latency systems using Java and Angular, including scalable solutions for large volumes of concurrent requests.
  • Experience developing applications using Single-Page Application (SPA) architecture.
  • Strong experience with Java, Angular 9+, Spring Boot, and REST API.
  • Experience building responsive web pages with an understanding of cross-browser compliance standards.
  • Experience designing and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS with PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with modern CI/CD tools including Jenkins, Git/Bitbucket, Jira, Nexus, Maven, SonarQube, Fortify, and UrbanCode Deploy.
  • Experience with web services technologies (XML, JAXP, JAXB, JAX-WS, AXIS, JERSEY, JSON, CXF, REST, SOAP) and security (LTPA, OAuth2/JWT).
  • Hands-on design and development experience with microservices and RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with automated unit testing (JUnit, mocking frameworks), TDD, and BDD (Cucumber).
  • Experience with JEE technologies including Struts, Spring Framework (IoC, MVC, Transactions, Security, Batch), Spring Boot, Spring JDBC, JPA, Hibernate, SOAP/RESTful, XML, DB2, Tomcat, WebSphere.
  • Experience with static code analysis tools such as SonarQube and remediating flagged bugs, vulnerabilities, and hotspots.
  • Knowledge of web application security vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.
Desired Skills
  • Proficient in designing and implementing Kafka-based event-driven architectures, including producers, consumers, topics, partitions, and consumer groups for scalable, fault-tolerant data streaming; experience configuring Kafka brokers, managing retention policies, and optimizing throughput and partitioning.
  • Familiarity with Kafka Connect for data ingestion and Kafka Streams for real-time processing and monitoring.
  • Strong understanding of current AI trends and the ability to apply AI knowledge to enhance or redesign system architectures.
  • Experience implementing Section 508 standards for web applications.
  • Exposure to writing technical white papers and systems design documents.
