HDR currently seeking a Site Civil EIT/Coordinator with the technical skills and desire to help support our nationally recognized Building Engineering Services Group, consisting of core services of Mechanical, Electrical, Structural and Site Civil Engineering. This person will be contributing to the design of facility related sites in support of a variety of markets including Commercial, Healthcare, Education, Municipal, Civic, Industrial, and Mission Critical buildings and infrastructure. This individual should be self-motivated, collaborative, and possess strong communication skills with an initiative to deliver high quality, technically sound designs.
In the role of Site Civil Designer / EI, we'll count on you to:
  • Assist on tasks associated with design and plan production for site development projects (layouts, grading, drainage, stormwater management, erosion & sediment control, site utilities, etc.).
  • Develop concept site layouts that are compliant with all Jurisdictional requirements.
  • Help prepare site civil engineering calculations in support of the site development (stormwater pond sizing, culvert and pipe capacity analysis, hydrology calcs, etc).
  • Coordinate with Jurisdictional Authority to determine design and submittal requirements and determine design solutions.
  • Perform administrative tasks associated with preparation of specifications, contracts documents, and permit submittals.
  • Attend and contribute to client meetings.
  • Coordinate with subconsultants for support and design services.
  • Embrace continuous learning and professional growth in site civil design.
  • Thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Be independent in your pursuit of information and solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with managers and team members.
  • Mentor junior staff and delegate appropriate tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ Years design experience in site civil design.
  • Engineer Intern (EI) certificate or ability to obtain within 12 months. Candidates hired without their EI will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EI for career progression.
  • Familiarity with CAD software such as Autodesk Civil 3D and specialty site civil engineering software (e.g., HydroCAD, Autodesk Hydraflow Extensions, etc.) as required.
  • Experience in site development and the design of building related site civil (grading, utilities, storm drainage, stormwater management, and erosion control).
  • Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand.
  • Preference given to local candidates.
