Job description

Robotics Systems & Field Integration Engineer

$49.00 – $59.00/Hour • Milwaukee, WI Area • First Shift • Full Benefits Package

  • COMPENSATION: $49.00 – $59.00/Hour Starting Rate (commensurate with controls & robotics depth) + Overtime Eligibility + Premium Benefits + Retirement Match & Educational Assistance
  • WORK SCHEDULE: First Shift | 50% – 80% Travel (predominantly domestic with occasional international commissioning opportunities)
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT: Blended role split between internal assembly floor debug in the Milwaukee area and global customer field deployments
  • EXPERIENCE: 5 to 8 years of proven robotics integration, automated cell debugging, and hands-on PLC troubleshooting
  • TECH STACK: PLC logic architecture, FANUC/robotic programming structures, servo controls, pneumatics, vision systems, and CAD/SolidWorks print interpretation
  • STABILITY: Century-old, family-owned capital equipment OEM supplying recession-proof global industries
  • REQUIREMENTS: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Robotics Engineering preferred (or equivalent elite field integration experience); ability to travel 50–80%

If you are a high-level automation professional seeking an environment where your specialized technical intelligence directly impacts multi-million dollar machinery, this agile capital equipment OEM represents the ideal professional home. Backed by nearly a century of continuous industrial excellence, this pioneer blends the high-trust, supportive culture of a tight-knit boutique firm with the vast stability of a global market leader. Designing custom assembly, welding, and robotic integration systems for global consumer goods, appliance, and automotive giants, the company remains insulated from localized economic shifts.

This position allows you to take true ownership of complex builds—leading ground-up automated systems from internal shop floor assembly and debug all the way to global customer site runoff. The leadership team heavily prioritizes technical mentorship, employee recognition, and long-term career growth.

What You Will Be Doing (Daily Responsibilities)
  • Lead Internal System Commissioning: Direct internal commissioning, debug, and equipment readiness on high-complexity automated systems before customer shipment.
  • Serve as Key Technical Interface: Bridge communication between multi-disciplinary engineering, project management, and floor assembly teams to resolve technical roadblocks rapidly.
  • Validate Advanced Robotic Platforms: Calibrate new robotic cells from scratch, executing hardware setups, I/O mapping, and industrial communication verifications.
  • Perform Diagnostic Troubleshooting: Execute deep electro-mechanical diagnostics across complex PLC architectures, pneumatic systems, servo drives, safety interlocks, and vision systems.
  • Lead Field Deployments: Deliver elite on-site support during customer installations, leading live equipment runoffs and providing technical training to client engineering teams.
  • Maintain Administrative Discipline: Track test hours, manage open-issue resolution logs, and submit clear technical progress reports to leadership.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements & Qualifications)
  • 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience integrating, debugging, and programming automated manufacturing systems and robotic cells.
  • 5+ years of PLC troubleshooting and basic logic programming experience in an active machine environment.
  • Diagnostic Mastery: Verifiable track record isolating hardware, software, mechanical, and electrical failures within high-precision capital machinery.
  • Comprehensive Print Fluency: Deep capability reading and interpreting multi-page mechanical schematics, electrical layouts, and fluid power drawings.
  • Travel Flexibility: Ability to travel 50% to 80% domestically and internationally for customer installations and field startups.
  • Education & Simulation Plus: Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Robotics Engineering is preferred; experience with CAD (SolidWorks) and offline simulation software is a strong plus.
