RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Field Testing & Inspection: Perform on-site materials testing and inspection according to project specifications and industry standards; collect samples and conduct field tests; accurately record and analyze data; maintain comprehensive daily reports using Spectra QEST software and internal worksheets.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all construction activities and materials meet quality standards and regulatory requirements; identify and report any non-compliance issues to the Director of CMT Services; collaborate with clients and project teams to resolve quality-related matters.
  • Client Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and governing agencies; provide clear and concise reports on field observations and test results; maintain a professional and collaborative relationship with all stakeholders.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay current with all applicable certifications, best practices, and emerging technologies in construction materials testing and inspection; apply knowledge to improve testing/inspection procedures and methodologies.
  • Mentorship & Training: Share expertise and provide guidance to junior technicians; promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the field team.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a construction materials testing and inspection field technician. Experience in QC/QA for roadway and airport construction is required.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in construction materials testing and inspection (e.g., ACI, NAQTC).
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and testing methods; proficiency in using field testing equipment and software; ability to interpret and analyze data.
  • Key Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills; strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
