Leidos is seeking a Junior Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) Analyst to support the development of geospatial datasets used in 3D synthetic environment generation. These datasets directly support the creation of immersive environments used for simulation, training, and mission planning.

In this role, you will work with multiple geospatial data sources (e.g., OpenStreetMap, AGC, Overture) to clean, standardize, and prepare 2D datasets that support downstream terrain and simulation systems. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals to gain hands-on experience in geospatial production workflows.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform geospatial data cleaning, editing, and standardization using ArcGIS Pro (primary) or similar GIS platforms
  • Compileand integrate data from multiple sources into a common schema
  • Validate feature geometry and attribution to meet quality standards
  • Execute established workflows for data processing and QA/QC
  • Support production of 2D geospatial datasets for downstream 3D environment generation
  • Work under guidance of senior analysts to complete assigned tasks
  • Document and escalate data issues or inconsistencies as needed
  • Support team production goals and timelines

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, or related field, with up to 4 years experience
  • Ability to obtain a DoD SECRET Security Clearance
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro or similar GIS tools
  • Understanding of core GIS principles (vector data, projections, attribution)
  • Strong attention to detail and data quality

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to Python or scripting for GIS workflows
  • Familiarity with open geospatial data sources (e.g., OSM)
  • Exposure to 3D GIS or modeling concepts
  • Exposure to automated or scalable geospatial data workflows
