LJB Inc. is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time Senior Project Manager role in Columbus, OH. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years working on major underground, tunnel, and trenchless projects, including both design and construction phase roles and will possess the professional and interpersonal skills to make a positive impact on our firm and the clients we serve. We are looking for a motivated professional with a forward-thinking mindset, strong analytical problem-solving skills, and a collaborative spirit.
Annual Compensation: $160,000 - $182,500 upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards

SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Managing projects and major tasks on projects, including writing proposals and developing work scope, fee, and schedule for project work.
  • Reporting of project progress and troubleshooting issues arising to maintain project profitability.
  • Maintaining quality by appropriate implementation of the LJB quality management process.
  • Implementing LJB health and safety practices to ensure employees are suitably trained and qualified to work on projects.
  • Leading technical tasks in production of project deliverables for clients.
  • Independently producing technical deliverables according to client specifications.
  • Independently preparing construction plans and specifications, structural/ geotechnical calculations and design reports, and technical memoranda.
  • Communicating technical and non-technical information in a concise, professional manner including participation in technical meetings and workshops with owners, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Producing geotechnical and structural engineering calculations as required in support of tunnel and trenchless design including support of excavation (shafts and tunnels - including connection details and complex structures), and adhering to all local and national codes of practice for concrete, steel, and timber design.
  • Independently preparing technical reports including technical memoranda, letters, and reports, as well as geotechnical data reports (GDRs), and geotechnical baseline reports (GBRs).
  • Completing geotechnical engineering associated with tunnel and trenchless design including the development of design parameters from geotechnical reports and project documents.
  • Completing structural analysis and design associated with tunnels, shafts, and stations including lining, connections, support of excavation, and retaining structures in steel, concrete, and timber.
  • Increasing LJB's visibility in the industry by participating in regional initiatives, conferences, committees, and community associations, including any identified professional association activities.

SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS:
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant area of study required (civil, structural, geological/geotechnical, or related field).
  • 15+ years of relevant project experience in the planning, design, and construction of a variety of tunnel and trenchless projects.
  • A thorough knowledge of relevant technical codes, operations, processes, and trends.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in relevant area of study required (civil, structural, geological/geotechnical, or related field).
  • Proven track record of winning new work and building business a plus.

Core Skills:
  • Excellent problem solving, decision making, and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, exercise independent judgment, interact with other staff, collaborate with other disciplines, and mentor junior staff.
