Position Summary
Danbury High School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Junior Varsity Field Hockey Head Coach for the upcoming fall season. The successful candidate will lead and develop a competitive varsity program while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, and academic responsibility among student-athletes.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and conduct all varsity field hockey practices and competitions
- Develop and implement game strategies and skill development programs
- Promote a positive and inclusive team culture
- Ensure compliance with district, league, and CIAC regulations
- Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, administration, and athletic staff
- Maintain and manage equipment and program needs
- Support the overall growth of the field hockey program
Qualifications
- Must possess Connecticut teaching certification with Coaching Permit (preferred) or Coaching Certification
- Must possess valid First Aid and CPR certificates
- Must possess Module 15 Concussion Management certification
- Knowledge of and/or experience in the sport preferred
Working Conditions
- 180 hours
- $20.82 per hour
