Job Summary:
Global Payments Inc. is seeking a Full Stack Lead Developer who will serve as a technical leader and hands-on authority throughout the software development life cycle. This role involves architecting, designing, and implementing scalable full-stack applications while providing mentorship to junior engineers and ensuring security compliance.
Responsibilities:
• Acts as the primary Full Stack Subject Matter Expert (SME); establishes engineering best practices, conducts rigorous code reviews, and provides technical mentorship and on-the-job training to junior and mid-level software engineers.
• Architects and develops complex, secure, and performant end-to-end code using Java/Spring Boot for back-end services and React.js for modern, responsive user interfaces.
• Designs, optimizes, and advises on complex program specifications to ensure seamless, high-speed interaction between UI components, backend APIs, and the Snowflake data layer.
• Actively drives and participates in all Agile ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Backlog Grooming, Retrospectives). Partners with Product Owners to break down complex Jira User Stories into technical tasks, manage velocity, and remove team blockers.
• Leads architectural discussions regarding secure credential management and API security. Applies in-depth knowledge of Payment Card Industry (PCI) security compliance to all development and infrastructure activities.
• Oversees the design and execution of comprehensive multi-level unit and integration testing to validate data accuracy across intricate partner hierarchies.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in full-stack design and software development.
• 3+ years of experience serving in a technical lead, team lead, or mentoring capacity.
• Strong experience leading and working in an Agile/Scrum environment with a deep understanding of Sprint cycles and iterative engineering delivery.
• Advanced programming knowledge of Java (Back-end) and JavaScript/TypeScript with a heavy focus on React.js (Front-end).
• Hands-on experience with Relational Databases or Data Warehouses (Snowflake preferred) and expert-level proficiency in writing and tuning complex SQL.
• Operating Systems: Microsoft Windows, Linux (Ubuntu/RHEL, Amazon Linux).
• Database & Data Warehouse: Advanced SQL proficiency; Snowflake, Oracle, or MS SQL Server.
• Back-end Technologies: Java (Spring Boot), Python, .NET Core.
• Front-end Technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, React.js (Core Requirement).
• Web Frameworks & State Management: Node.js, Redux / Context API.
• API Management & Testing: Apigee, Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI (including Basic Auth/Base64 and OAuth protocols).
• Agile & Collaboration Tools: Jira, Confluence, Slack, Microsoft Teams.
• Development & Build Tools: Git/Bitbucket, VS Code, IntelliJ IDEA, Maven/Gradle.

• Must be a US Citizen, GC holder or on H4EAD.

Preferred:
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with a specific focus on financial reporting, data processing, or merchant services.

• Hands-on familiarity with designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab CI) within an Agile cloud-native workflow.
