Tech 2, Mechanical Engineering - Product Development Technician
Location: Brea, CA | Shift: Mon-Fri, 1:30pm-10:00pm | Pay: $27-$35/hr (to be determined at offer) | Type: Contractor
About the Role
Join BD, a leading global medical technology innovator, as a Tech 2, Mechanical Engineering (Product Development Technician). Work onsite at our Brea, CA facility and be a vital part of a team that helps shape future medical technologies. This role is ideal for detail-oriented professionals passionate about supporting healthcare breakthroughs through technical excellence.
Responsibilities
- Compile, maintain, and manipulate technical data from laboratory tests and engineering design changes
- Generate engineering documentation, such as reports, flowcharts, schematics, and diagrams
- Conduct quantitative analysis and prepare technical summaries
- Provide direct technical support to engineers and project leaders
- Assist with equipment scoping, qualification, and routine lab functions (calibration, safety, maintenance)
- Identify and promptly communicate project-impacting factors to supervisors or team leads
- Contribute to prototype process development and test setup
- Execute test protocols, handle test samples, and document results with precision
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and company procedures
Required Skills and Experience
