Job description

Synectic Solutions is seeking an Metrology Junior Electronics Engineer to support the Metrology Department and the Navy's Calibration Laboratory at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. The purpose of this entry-level position is to support senior engineers in designing, testing and documenting electronic systems and components to ensure that military equipment and measurement systems are accurate and calibrated per standards. Salary Range: $80k - $90k Responsibilities * Effectively and efficiently operate and communicate across multi-level security environments. * Coord * Work under the guidance of experienced senior engineers supporting the Navy's Metrology Department. * Apply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate physical electronic components and systems. * Calibrate instruments, design test equipment, troubleshoot issues, and implement quality assurance processes for products like semiconductors and circuit boards. * Testing and validation on electronics components and systems focused on ensuring products meet quality and performance standards. * Performing calculations, working with electronics equipment, and contributing to the full lifecycle of hardware development, testing and production. * Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other engineering documentation. * Analyze measurement data and maintain accurate records of all results and calibrations. Recording problems of significant complexity that sometimes require resolution at a higher level. Prepares test reports. * Support quality control by verify compliance with Navy's METCAL standards. * Applying methods outlined by others to limited segments of research and development projects, constructing experimental or prototype models to meet engineering requirements; conducting tests or experiments; developing/implementing redesigns as necessary; and recording and evaluating data and reports findings. Requirements: * U.S. Citizen with an Active TS with SAP eligibility required. * Technical or Scientific BS or BA degree; Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering degree or related field is required. * Experience: 0-3 years * Technical knowledge: Proficiency with electronics, IT systems, and electronics design software is beneficial. * Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinkings skills * Good communications skills are essential. * Hands-on ability: Candidates need the dexterity and knowledge to work with tools and components * Security Clearance: SECRET * Work Location: 100% On-Site at the Navy Calibration Laboratory, NAS Patuxent River, MD * Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with multi-disciplinary teams, including engineers, logisticians, program managers, and data specialists.
