Junior Specialist - Lin Lab
Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
Department of Surgery
University of California, San Francisco

The Junior Specialist will support research in plastic and craniofacial surgery, surgical innovations, and translational medicine. This position will work under the supervision of the principal investigator, Dr. Alexander Lin, to contribute to ongoing projects involving 3D printing of surgical guides, outcomes research, digital health applications, and medical device development.
Responsibilities include assisting with research design and data collection, computer-based analysis and research (including use of specialized software or programming tools as needed), and coordination of project workflows across multiple teams. The position also involves maintaining and operating specialized research equipment, ensuring compliance with laboratory safety standards, and preparing documentation in support of publications, grants, and collaborative research.
Specialists appointed at the Junior rank must have a baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) in biology, computer science or a related field or at least 4 years of research experience.
